21st Wish List

I am soon to turn 21. Can't believe how time flies, still tell people I'm 19 when they ask! Feeling rather old and I've heard it's only down hill from here, but I am going to make sure that it isn't and make the most of things. I can't wait for my other half to come over from Devon for my birthday, and I'm really looking forward to the presents, and here are a few things I hope I receive!

Anything you are looking forward to investing in for this Spring/Summer?

New Favourite Nail Polishes

I have so many nail polishes that it would take forever for me to post a photo of each one or even of just my favourites, but here are a few new ones that I really like at the moment.

I love glitter nail polishes, not only are they attractive, but also they last a lot longer and I am the worst for chipping nail polish. I can manage to chip nail polish on my duvet! This glitter polish I put on top of a black polish because I found that the effect that I achieved in this photo takes a while to build and I am not one for putting layer after layer of polish on my nails and waiting for them to dry, I am just too impatient. So if you are like me then I would recommend a black polish underneath, just any old polish will do the trick, it is just to make the glitter stand out. I particularly like this glitter polish because it has lots of colours in it and lasts a good while, especially on my toes. Only problem with glitter is getting it off! I would recommend putting polish remover on a cotton pad and holding it on the nail so it soaks in and it makes the polish easier to remove.
I got my BarryM polish from Boots for only £2.99.

This was a limited edition BarryM which I got just before Christmas. It was the lid that tempted me, and I am glad I got it because the colour is lovely. Wouldn't say I made it last, but I have had it on my toe nails for a few weeks now and it hasn't chipped so think it would be ok if you weren't useless like me and chipped polish all the time.

I had to do a post about this Essie polish. I had never tried Essie until I found some in a Boots in Devon. I had heard about how good it was but didn't think it was worth the price, £7.99; especially when I chip my nails so easily. But I had a Boots voucher and needed to spend over £45 so I got two colours; Cute as a Button, and this one, Butler Please. I must say I was amazed by it, it went on so easily, it dried almost instantly even the second coat, and it hardly chipped! It didn't chip until about two days later and it was only a tiny bit which is really good for me. And the colours are lovely and bold. I love the colour Butler Please, it is so different from anything I have seen before. I would definitely recommend Essie even for the steep price tag, it is worth the pennies!
You can check the Essie site to find a store near you or find them on the Boots website.

Any new nail polishes that you love and would like to recommend? Post below, I love trying new nail polishes.

Graze Box

I came across a voucher in a magazine the other day for a free 'Graze Box'. Graze box is a company that send healthy food straight to your home or workplace in a cute little (eco-friendly) box! You can select which days of the week you want it to come and every time there will be something different in there for you to try. You can select from their lists of foods which food you want to bin (never have sent), try, like, love and an option for you to have it sent ASAP. The more you say you like the food, the more often it'll be sent.
I am VERY fussy with food so I found it hard to select foods I thought I might like, and to be honest I thought I would get the free box and then never want another one.
But mine came in the post today and I must say I love it! Here are the foods I received below.

Herby Bread basket
Contains mini garlic croutons, mini basil breadsticks and oreganto rice crackers. There were more in the box but I couldn't stop nibbling them before I took the picture! My favourite were the garlic croutons, but they were all bursting with tasty flavour.

Summer Berry Flapjack
Rustic rolled oats and summer berry flapjack. You receive three in the pack and I surprised how tasty it was. Normally flapjacks that are healthy they taste fowl (well that's what I have found!) but this is sooo nice, taking one to college tomorrow to have with my lunch.

Strawberry Milkshake
OK, I know it doesn't look like a milkshake, and it doesn't taste like one, but it contains mini strawberries, white chocolate buttons and banana coins; so you can see where the name comes from. I was a bit nervous to put this in my mouth because I am so fussy about these kind of things. I think the fruit on it's own was ok, nothing to get excited about, but have the fruit and the chocolate buttons together and you have a lovely combo.

Slightly sweet popcorn
Healthy popcorn! Hurray! All it contains is corn, sugar, vegetable oil, rosemary extract and stevia. I am yet to try this as it only came today and I don't want to make it try it and then waste it because I'm not hungry so I will update the post when I have tried it, but from the other food I am certain I will love it!

So for £3.89 you get to try four new healthy snacks you never would have thought to eat delivered to your door on the day of your choice, why not? You would spend time wandering around the supermarket looking for new healthy foods, spend money on the foods anyway, so why not just save the hassle?
I can't wait to see what I get in my next box.
Have you had a Graze box yet? If you did what was your favourite food?

2012 in pictures

So I'm new to blogging but I really am determined to post regularly in 2013. My blog didn't really kick off in 2012 so this year I'm going to really go for it and hope you enjoy my posts! I think I had an eventful year last year but there is always room for improvement so this year I really want to do more and say 'yes' to things.
Last year I finally set my heart on a career; I have been yo-yo-ing my way between college courses for the past 3/4 years and finally decided beauty was what I wanted to do, and I love it. I have made some great friends and have learnt lots of new things, so glad I finally found something I enjoyed, can't wait to complete it and go on to do level 3.
I recently left a job that I wasn't, to say the least, enjoying, so I am now jobless and broke so I will be looking for something new this year.
I did a fair amount of travelling last year; Spain, Manchester, Lancaster, Devon-and here and there, more than I would usually do, and I intend to do more in 2013; it widens my knowledge and I feel more confident knowing I can travel around in one piece.
And then there is the boy in my life; it has been a bit of a roller coaster over the past year, but I can gladly say we are happy and I don't know what I would do without him, he is my rock.
A further few things; I redecorated, out with old and in with the new, Cherie (the cat) joined the family, my camera and phone broke on the same night so was grateful for a new camera for Christmas, just in need of a new phone, it's looking pretty desperate, a nokia 3310 wouldn't go a miss!
So my new years resolution is really to do more with life and grab it with both hands.
We make our own fate, it is up to us what do with our lives, so make it happen.
